I’m Going to a Guitar Lesson After Work. Is it Safe to Leave my Guitar in the Car All Day?

Not a great idea.  The guitar is made of wood, thin delicate wood to be exact, and wood is a natural material that is sensitive to heat, cold, and humidity.

That said, if your season and climate is such that temperature extremes are unlikely to occur the day you want to leave your guitar in the trunk of the car, (it’s going to stay, say, between 50 and 60 degrees), then do so, but with caution.

Never mind the heartbreak of it possibly getting stolen,  if your car gets too hot or too cold, you risk causing serious damage to the guitar. Glue comes unglued, finishes crack, wood splits and warps.

See if you can bring your guitar into work with you and leave it in a safe corner, or drop it off at your friend’s house before going into the office.
